Increasing the bioavailability or the presence of the phase II conjugates cannot produce any beneficial effects on curcumin, since the phase II conjugates have no biological activities. The question arises as to whether the techniques used in curcumin products are capable of providing the body with unconjugated curcuminoids or whether they merely increase the biologically inactive conjugates of phase II. GOLD STANDARD CURCUMINOIDS was developed with BioPerine®, which can increase the bioactivity of curcuminoids by a factor of 20. This increase was measured in the curcumin itself and not in the inactive phase II metabolites.
