Iron is an essential mineral whose compound forms with nitrogen and sulfur have contributed to the development of life and the release of oxygen into the atmosphere through photosynthesis throughout evolution.

For example, red meat, fish, legumes and dark green leafy vegetables contain large amounts of iron. In foods of animal origin, most iron is present as part of complex proteins, such as: B.
